The physical and spiritual purification of this holy month is often associated with the practice of self-restraint and represents a way to grow closer to god.

Self-restraint may feel familiar to all of us, post-COVID-19, but Ramadan represents a lot more than faith and sacrifice. It is also a time where the community comes together. Whether it’s to break fast or spend time with family, friends, and loved ones, a sense of community and belonging characterises the month.

In 2020, Ramadan’s sense of community had to be virtual. In Ramadan 2021, restrictions have eased and communities and families can reunite once again in the spirit of Eid.

Reuniting as a community means different things to different people. While Australia has, by and large, eased its restrictions, other parts of the world continue to grapple with outbreaks of COVID-19.

Even as we observe and reflect over the course of the holy month, our reflections are likely to be preoccupied with the plight of our brothers and sisters elsewhere in the world who may not be so fortunate to be with their families this Ramadan.

The current global landscape may give us much more to reflect on this year, but it also gives us more reasons to be thankful for what we have. From a plentiful Eid feast with every generation of your family, the opportunity to catch up over coffee and sweets to visiting the mosque and so much more.

Ramadan 2021 is simultaneously a celebration of all that is past, as well as a time to spiritually prepare for all that is to come.

Not many things are secure in this world, including age-old traditions, but you can take steps towards ensuring your future with gold.

The gift of gold is as timeless as tradition itself. No matter how far apart you are from your nearest and dearest, Rush Gold makes it easy to buy, gift, and receive gold through a safe and secure platform.

Eid Mubarak and a very happy, peaceful Ramadan to everyone celebrating!
