Every year, Diwali, the festival of light, symbolises the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and prosperity for the year ahead after the hardships of the previous year.

Millions of people around the world celebrate the five days of Diwali by lighting up their homes and exchanging best wishes with their loved ones to say that—as a community—we can overcome the challenges in the year ahead.

This wonderful celebration of the victory of good over evil brings us all together—friends, family, and loved ones—in a celebration of togetherness and community. The festival of light lives up to its name by lighting up the world like no other festival can.

More than anything else, it reminds us of all the good in the world and that good will always win over evil. Regardless of how elusive that win may seem.

In the last two years, celebrating Diwali with the people we love and care about has become harder than ever before due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the numerous lockdowns, and social distancing rules enforced by governments to curb the spread of the virus. For many, this means they’ve had to miss out on familiar traditions, from the light of thousands of oil lamps, and the explosion of firecrackers, to the taste of delicious food, and the laughter of extended family.

With this backdrop, it’s easy to see that overcoming dark times, and conquering evil, isn’t always as straightforward as we like to believe. In times like these, especially, it takes all of humanity to act in the best interest of one another to eliminate the threat we are all facing.

While the many changes over the past few months may make us feel like we are living through dark times, however, it’s also helped us value all the things that make our lives brighter and make those dark times lighter—just a little bit more than usual.

This Diwali, it is our responsibility to celebrate as safely as possible to ensure that our loved ones and our communities stay safe and healthy during this wonderful time of the year. That said, it doesn’t mean that you can’t kickstart another prosperous year by connecting with your loved ones and keeping them close, no matter how near or far they may be.

While it can be a challenge to discover new ways to make your presence felt at this time of the year, you can still be with your loved ones while keeping them safe. You can connect with your family through video calls, and uphold the tradition of gift-giving with thoughtful tokens to remind them that your thoughts are always with them. Every small thing you do goes a long way in sharing the joy of Diwali with your loved ones, especially during these unprecedented times.

If you’re thinking of sending gifts to celebrate Diwali this year, giving the gift of gold might just be the best way to brighten their days and drive the darkness away. With Rush Gold, you can send the gift of better financial security to your loved ones with just a few clicks, and a personalised note.
